The prestigious Spanish magazine Condé Nast Traveler Spain founded almost 20 years ago is the gold standard for the Spanish travelers today. It highlights the visual elements of the most sophisticated and eye-catching destinations and suggests its readers the ways to enjoy these destinations to the fullest. Hence it is a great honor for Costa Rica to be selected as the best international destination of 2018 by its readers.
Initially, Costa Rica was voted by the readers and followers of the prestigious magazine that nominated 25 international destinations in the 2018 Gold List Traveler Awards. And then it made a place with the top 10 most beautiful destinations around the world that included Ciudad del Cabo in Mexico, Scotland, Hawaii, Kerala in India, Puglia in Italy and Samana in Dominian Republic and competed with them gracefully to win the glorious title.

The 10th Gold List award gala was celebrated in Casino de Madrid in Spain.
Maria Amalia Revelo, recently named as the Minister of Tourism stated that “the award is a result that validates the efforts and development strategies of promotion that have been carried out in the last years geared towards the European market, where the number of direct flights has increased considerably and the visitation has seen a constant growth.”
