NOTE: estimated driving time 20 minutes.

(Breakfast) A visit to Poas Volcano, large geysers and awesome crater- over 1.5 km wide. The volcano is active, but safe for viewing. La Paz Waterfall Gardens are absolutely spectacular! including the world’s largest butterfly observatory, hummingbird and orchid gardens and safe trails along the La Paz river with 5 large waterfalls. Many visitors have commented that it is exactly what they envisioned Costa Rica to be: lush, verdant green rainforest, lots of colorful birds, flowers and butterflies. Then drive to Arenal in the northern part of the Alajuela province, close to the Nicaraguan border which offers beautiful and varied scenery refreshed by gentle tropical rain that keeps the land green almost all year round. The lowlands host gushing rivers, hot springs, lagoons, remote national parks, and plentiful wildlife.

(Breakfast) In the afternoon you will head to the Arenal Volcano National Park for an easy hike on Los Tucanes trail all the way to the lookout point for amazing views of the forest, the lake and the volcano.

(Breakfast) A day to rest and enjoy the Arenal Volcano area.

(Breakfast) After breakfast you will head north, towards Rincon de la Vieja Volcano and national park, the most visited park in Guanacaste.

(Breakfast) After breakfast a tour in the Rincon de la Vieja National Park. Boasting fantastic sceneries, beautiful waterfalls, soothing hot springs, boiling mud pits, a fresh water volcanic lagoon, picnic areas, long-winding trails and a variety of exotic animals are waiting for you in this tour.

Overnight at hotel Borinquen (superior), bungalow superior room or similar or hotel Hacienda Guachipelin (standard & budget options)

(Breakfast) After breakfast you will continue to the central pacific coast to Manuel Antonio, which is one of the most luxuriant sites in Costa Rica with spectacular white-grey sandy beaches fringed by thickly forested green hills

Overnight at hotel Parador (superior), superior room or similar (5 km from the national park), or hotel Playa Espadilla (standard) standard room or similar (500 m from the national park), or hotel Verde Mar (budget), standard room or similar (600 m from the national park).

(Breakfast) In the morning you will be picked up from your hotel on your way to Manuel Antonio National Park to enjoy the guided walk inside one of the world’s finest parks. Spectacular natural beauty and peaceful atmosphere attracts many visitors to Manuel Antonio National Park, which preserves not only beautiful beaches and the unique formation of Punta Cathedral, but also mangroves, a setting of islands offshore, and a humid tropical forest. The park has four beaches, each with its special characteristics. You will follow a professional guide through one of Costa Rica’s most famous national parks that gathers numerous species of butterflies, monkeys, raccoons, coatis, agoutis, two-toed sloths, snakes, orchids, etc.

Overnight at hotel Parador (superior), superior room or similar (5 km from the national park), or hotel Playa Espadilla (standard) standard room or similar (500 m from the national park), or hotel Verde Mar (budget), standard room or similar (located 600 m from the national park).

According to your international flight departure schedule you will return to San Jose to the international airport.
