The inter-American Highway runs along north of Puntarenas and into Guanacaste at this bottleneck. It offers seamless travel options to most of the sightseeing attractions throughout Guanacaste. Side roads from the Inter-American Highway can help you explore the tropical forest as it ascends into the surrounding highlands. The forest offers refuge to exotic flora and fauna specials including a great abundance of monkeys, iguanas, sloths, and toucans.
