Sharks in Costa Rica

Costa Rica has had very few shark attacks, and from what the official records show, only one attack which ended up in death by bleeding, an attack that happened by a Bullshark attack in Guanacaste. However, there are many species of sharks in Costa Rica, two of them potentially aggressive which is the might Tiger Shark and the other is the Bullshark, which inhabits not only the shallow coasts but also rivers, estuaries and mangrove forests. Just use your common sense and avoid swimming in deep water at dawn or night, do not cross deep river mouths like the infamous Sirena River in the Osa Peninsula and other.
