San Jose today is a large and expanding town. The capital of Costa Rica and the largest city in the country, San Jose is considered to be one of the most cosmopolitan cities in Latin America. One can find there good accommodations and hotels, many museums, bars, restaurants, trade centers, colorful markets and a great rhythm of night life.

San José is also the perfect point of exit to visit Costa Rica.

Downtown San Jose is the busiest part of the city.

The city centre is fairly small.The streets and avenues are usually full of pedestrians and traffic, so the best way to explore this area is by foot

Visit the Museum of Contemporary Art at the CENAC or take a tour to the Jade Museum. If you have children, a great place to visit is the Museo de los Niños or Children Museum at 4th Street. The Pre-Columbian Gold Museum Calle 5, Museo Nacional ( the national museum) Parque la Sabana .For closely and personally contact to the habitants, visit local markets such as the Central Market in Central Avenue.  Mercado Nacional de Artesanias .
