El Trapiche, is a Costa Rican family business, where you can enjoy a 2 hour guided tour. The tour begins with a walk through the farm where you can get a glimpse of the sugar cane, coffee, bananas, plantains, root vegetables and oranges plantations among others. See the entire coffee process, ride an ox cart, see the “saca de guaro”, the process of making the famous liquor that is made out of sugar cane and enjoy a delicious cup of coffee. After that continue to the frog pond and butterfly farm. In this exhibition of frogs and butterflies you walk with a guide and learn about the unique species of Costa Rica, over 40 species of butterflies and 30 species of frogs, among them few extraordinary ones such as colorful “Poison Arrow frog”, the very large “Marine Toad” and the famous “Red Eyed Tree” frog
