6. Playa Cocles and Salsa Brava

On the south Caribbean coast, the main attraction of the popular beach town of Puerto Viejo is the Salsa Brava, the largest wave throughout Costa Rica. This famous yet dangerous surf break is ideal for the most experienced surfers. Located up close to Salsa Brava, Playa Cocles offers a beach break and slightly less intense.
